Bookmark and Share Eric Kitchen

Eric Kitchen comes to MEL from OCIO with thirty years of experience at NIST working in the areas of Finance and Budget.  He has been responsible for software development and maintenance of various administrative applications.  One of his major accomplishments was his contribution to the development of the Financial Database System in 1984.  The system produced accounting reports for NIST, NTIA and TA.  Other accomplishments include the development of software to meet the requirements of the Debt Collection Improvement Act.  He was responsible for a subset of the software modifications to the financial system required for Y2K compliance.  Eric has worked with various teams of auditors to evaluate systems, make recommendations, and implement improvements.  Eric was awarded two Bronze Medals for dedicated support of the administrative systems at NIST.      

Since the implementation of the Commerce Administrative Management System (CAMS), now known as Commerce Business Systems, Eric has been a key participant on many focus groups.  He has helped foster numerous improvements.  He was instrumental in obtaining the funding for many recent enhancements.  He has given various presentations to the SMA and AO community on a wide range of CAMS related topics, and has represented the issues of the administrative areas in many meetings.
