Abstract

The Facility Smart Grid Information Model (FSGIM) standard is one part of a larger ecosystem of standards that support the development and implementation of a smart electric grid. The FSGIM uses Unified Modeling Language to define key concepts that must map between electricity providers and electricity consumers. It is intended to guide the evolution of control technologies used to manage loads and generation sources in homes, commercial and institutional buildings, and industrial or manufacturing operations.
