Abstract

Frequency combs can support cutting-edge measurements in areas that include optical clocks and oscillators, high-accuracy frequency and time transfer, precision spectroscopy from the UV to THz regimes, high-accuracy LIDAR, precise microwave photonics, and the search for exoplanets. However, current high performance combs are restricted to the well-controlled optical lab, which greatly restricts their adoption to these and other applications.
