Title: Proximity and Antenna Orientation Effects for Large-Form-Factor Devices in a Reverberation Chamber
Published: August 08, 2013
Abstract: Recent research has shown that large-form-factor devices can affect radiated power measurements in a reverberation chamber due to absorbtion and physical blocking by lossy material present in the device. In this paper, these effects are explained and related to the orientation and proximity of the antenna associated with the large-form-factor load in the reverberation chamber. Guidelines are developed from these results indicating best practices for the placement of antennas on large-form-factor machine-to-machine devices so as to minimize the effects of loading.
