Abstract

As part of its Fire Risk Research Program, the NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) are participating in an International Collaborative Fire Model Project (ICFMP) to assess and validate fire computer codes for nuclear power plant applications. This assessment is being conducted through benchmarking and validation exercises. The experiments are simulating fire scenarios in a single compartment. The focus is to provide data from a large-scale fire test of a simulated nuclear power plant cable room. This report includes a description of the measurement methods and experimental results for Tests 2,3, and 4 of the International Fire Model Benchmarking and Validation Exercise #3. The experimental data itself is compiled as three files, one for each test, on a companion compact disc. The data can be used as a comparison with fire models as part of the international benchmark exercise.
