| Title: | Progress Under the Next Generation Fire Suppression Technology Program (NGP)in 1999 |
| Published: | May 04, 2000 |
| Abstract: | The goal of the Department of Defense's Next Generation Fire Suppression Technology Program is to develop and demonstrate, by 2005, technology for economically feasible, environmentally acceptable and user-safe processes, techniques, and fluids that meet the operational requirements currently satisfied by halon 1301 systems in aircraft. This paper summarizes the research accomplishments in FY1999 in new flame suppression chemistry, suppressant screening tests, new and improved aerosol suppressants, improved suppressant delivery, and viability of new suppressant technologies. |
