Abstract

This report contains the introduction to the proceedings of the 2001 National Educators Workshop, planned for October 16-18, 2001 at NIST. More than one hundred fifty participants from academic, industrial, and government organizations, as well as local high schools are expected to attend. The participants will share their new experiments designed to demonstrate the basic principles of materials science and engineering.
