Abstract: Establishment of traceability is necessary for placing results and estimates of their uncertainty on an absolute scale. There are a number of factors that must be considered when comparing independent results during missions that cannot be neglected. Sensor characterization is important for effective removal of systematic effects, which can easily lead to results that are in error by more than the stated uncertainty.
