Abstract

This report documents the development and integration of software and hardware components used for the partial automation of the mass calibration process. The software follows the measurement sequence specified by the measurement design chosen by the operator. The measurement designs are those that are typically used in the mass calibration laboratory. After the operator places a weight on the electronic balance the software automatically reads the balance and environmental transducers and their values are automatically recorded in a data file. When the measurements are done the data are processed and formatted into a file used for the mass code.
