This is a flash, underwater photograph of the inside of a British Troop carrier, sunk by General Cornwallis off the coast of Norfolk, VA during the American Revolutionary War. It shows the construction of the hull, which is unusual for boats of the time, I’m told. The image is courtesy of John Broadwater, NOAA. It is an example of an image that can be contrast enhanced much better by flattening it first.
