Lispix analyzes gray level images, mainly. Usually it is convenient to open JEPG and GIF images, which naturally are color image files, as gray level images. Often, gray level images are saved in these formats, just to save file space.
The open color images as… button is at the bottom of the expanded menu bar. This controls how Lispix opens JPG and GIF and RGB TIFF color images: if set to ‘gray level’, Lispix will display the value component (RGB -> HSV, where V is value) of the color image as a gray level image.
This control for opening color images used to be in the File
menu, and in the File Utilities Tool. I’ve removed it from both those
places and put it here in the expanded menu bar.
