To try the examples:

  • Help / Browse Examples
    • Select a text file
    • File will be listed, and the default folder set.
  • Make Map
    • Select the same file, or another one.
    • Noise free map will be displayed.
  • Add Noise
    • See new image of map with Poisson noise added.
  • List
    • List file used to make last map.

Seven discs of various radii, evenly spaced.

 Noise-free map and two renditions, adding random Poisson noise.

The seventh 'disc' is just a single pixel, which shows up in the center image because it happened to get a high value.  Most of the time, it is not visible, as in the bottom image.
