NIST Seeks to Fill Three Vacancies on Forensic Science Standards Organization

OSAC Lollipop

NIST's Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC), the 540-member group working to develop a uniform set of forensic science standards and guidelines, is seeking to fill three vacancies on its boards and committees.

There is one vacancy on each of the following OSAC units:

Those who are interested in any of these vacancies and have not previously applied must submit an application in order to be eligible. The application form is online at https://www.nist.gov/forensics/osac-application.cfm. Applications submitted by June 21, 2015, will be considered.

Those who are interested in serving on the Forensic Science Standards Board (FSSB) and have applied anytime since April 2014 will be considered and do not need to reapply. New applicants interested in the FSSB position should note that it is not possible to select "FSSB" under the drop-down menu options for committee preference. Select any of the other options and you will receive consideration.

Those who are interested in the Biology/DNA Scientific Area Committee or Legal Resource Committee and have previously applied do not need to reapply. If you selected Biology/DNA Scientific Area Committee or Legal Resource Committee as your preference on your previous application, you will be considered for these vacancies.

If you are a previous applicant and did not select Biology/DNA Scientific Area Committee or Legal Resource Committee as your preference (or you do not remember your preference), please send an email note to forensics [at] nist.gov (forensics[at]nist[dot]gov) and place either "Biology/DNA SAC" or "Legal Resource Committee" on the subject line. Include your full name in the body of your email. Messages must be received by June 21.
