Kellie A. Beall

Kellie A Beall is an Information Specialist in the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Ms. Beall began her career at NIST in 1990 in the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award office as a clerk. She quickly moved on to group secretary in the Computer Systems Laboratory in 1991, and then joined the Building and Fire Research Laboratory (BFRL) in 1995 as the Division Secretary to the Fire Science Division, where she remained until January, 2000.

Currently, Ms. Beall serves as Information Specialist to the laboratory, assisting in the design, production and maintenance of internal and external web sites. She also participates in the design and editing of several biennial publications and newsletters. 

Ms. Beall serves on several NIST Working Groups including the NIST Publications System Working Group and ADLP Subcommittee. She also serves in the position of Information Coordinator for EL and participates as an active member of the this group. Ms. Beall serves as the FOIA Coordinator for EL and is responsible for managing the ongoing effort to respond to numerous FOIA requests.

In August 2008, Ms. Beall received a Department of Commerce Certificate of Appreciation for "exceptional support to the Investigation of the World Trade Center Building 7 Collapse." In December 2009, Ms. Beall received a Department of Commerce Special Act Award for "exceptional and sustained support to the Building and Fire Research Laboratory." 

In addition to the academic training she has received in Information Technology at Montgomery College, which includes Systems Analysis and Design, Technical Writing, and Desktop Publishing; she has also completed computer training courses in HTML, Access, FrontPage, and Photoshop. She has also earned Professional Certifications in both Web Development and PC Service and Support through Learning Tree International. Prior to joining the NIST staff, Ms. Beall worked in the printing and graphics field, utilizing and building her knowledge of photography, page layout, editing, and project management.
