Yeehing H. Lam is the secretary of the Construction Metrology and Automation Group of the Materials and Construction Research Division (MCRD) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Ms. Lam has provided administrative and research support for the Construction Metrology and Automation Group since September 2009. She received her B.S. in Architecture from University of Maryland in 2000, where she studied the process and product of planning, designing, and constructing space that reflects functional, social, and aesthetic considerations.
Prior to joining NIST, Ms. Lam was a project architect in an architectural design firm for 3 years, where manipulating and coordinating of style, material, technology, light, and weather were focused. After that, she joined another award winning architectural firm as an interior project manager for 5 years, where architecture also encompasses the pragmatic aspects of project planning, cost estimating, and construction administration.
