The purpose of the workshop is to establish a forum by which U.S. industry and NIST, working together, can address scientific and technological challenges that impede the application of non-contact temperature measuring methods to important industrial processes. This is an opportunity for industry scientists to provide input on how NIST can help industry meet their present and future challenges in non-contact thermometry. It is also an opportunity for interaction and cross-fertilization between diverse interests in the area of non-contact thermometry.
Date: October 16 & 17, 2000
Location: The meeting will be held at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Administration Building, Lecture Room B, Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Registration: The registration fee is $115 and includes coffee breaks, lunch, a dinner and workshop materials. The registration form and payment must be received by Monday, October 2, for your name to appear on the preliminary participant's list. Requests for cancellation or refund must be submitted, in writing, to Lori Buckland by October 2.
Registration can be made electronically via credit card at: https://sales.nist.gov/conf/secure/CONF268/conf_register.htm
If you are not paying with a credit card, please print out the electronic registration form and fax it to (301) 948-8900.

Call For Abstracts
Contributions to the workshop are sought that are related to the Potential Topics listed below including, but not limited to, the Areas of Application - also listed below. The abstract should emphasize industry's present and future challenges in non-contact temperature measurement -- with respect to both technology development and applications. Attention to areas where NIST might help with respect to problems, gaps, and future trends is particularly welcome. Presentations will be selected on the basis of a one page abstract which should be submitted electronically to NCTWORK@nist.gov no later than August 11. Presentations will be selected on the basis of submitted abstracts by August 18.
Potential Topics:
Help define the NIST toolkit in non-contact thermometry.
Areas of Application:
