Research Activities and Interests:

Barbara was employed at NIST to manage the day to day operations of the National Biomontoring Specimen Bank. This included collecting specimens, homogenizing specimens and maintaining the operation of numerous ultra-cold mechanical freezers as well as liquid nitrogen freezers. In addition, she does analysis for purity assessments on a Differential Scanning Calorimeter, moisture determinations for Standard Reference Material and particle sizing on a Mastersizer 2000. She has done homogenizations for various materials including material for the dietary supplement SRMs. She has co-authored publications describing these various activities.
