William Young

Bill Young is a NanoFab Technician for the CNST NanoFab Operations Group. Bill has an A.S. degree in Electronics Engineering, and worked for six years for the Department of Defense as a field service representative supporting unique electronic systems, including service to remote duty stations in the Arctic. He then joined National Semiconductor, where he became a Lead Senior Equipment Support Technician in a demanding semiconductor production environment and served as the Emergency Response Team coordinator for a 30-member team. Prior to joining NIST in 2007, Bill worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Covega Corporation, where he helped set up a semiconductor laser manufacturing facility. Bill maintains more than 45 advanced systems in the NanoFab, providing functional process support and training for several of these systems.
