Young Jae Song is a CNST/UMD Postdoctoral Researcher in the Electron Physics Group in the CNST. He received B.S., M.S., and Ph. D. degrees in Physics from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, where his Ph. D. thesis received the Graduate Student Research Award. Young Jae first came to the Electron Physics Group in 2006 to work with Joe Stroscio through a postdoctoral scholarship from the Korea Research Foundation. He continues to work with Dr. Stroscio on the construction of an ultra-low temperature (20 mK) ultra-high vacuum scanning tunneling microscope (STM). He is also conducting STM studies of dilute magnetic semiconductors.
