Imad Agha is a CNST/UMD Postdoctoral Researcher in the Nanofabrication Research Group. He received a B.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Cornell University. His doctoral research focused on characterizing parametric nonlinear optical interactions in high-Q microresonators. Prior to joining the CNST, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Paris, where he built systems for creating squeezed and entangled states of light generated by atomic vapors and nonlinear crystals. Imad is working with Kartik Srinivasan developing nanophotonic devices for single photon generation, wavelength conversion, and waveform shaping.
