Title: Microwave assisted magnetic reversal in Ni80Fe20 nanoelements
Published: July 06, 2009
Abstract: We studied the microwave assisted magnetic reversal in 65×71 nm2 elliptical Ni80Fe20 nanomagnets with a thickness of 10 nm. Hysteresis curves were measured by magneto-optical Kerr effect for a range of microwave frequencies and amplitudes. We observe a strong reduction in the coercive field when the microwave frequency coincides with the experimentally determined ferromagnetic resonance frequency in the switching region. This process occurs despite a small microwave amplitude relative to the coercive field. The experimental results were compared to numerical simulations and show good agreement.
