Title: Manufacturing Interoperability Program, a Synopsis
Published: February 24, 2009
Abstract: Started in 2005, the Manufacturing Interoperability Program has seen an investment of roughly 25-30 full-time staff who have researched, developed, and deployed standards, tools, techniques, and testing environments --- helping manufacturing enterprise systems to integrate more easily. Program management, leadership, and strategic direction was set by the Manufacturing Systems Integration Division?s (MSID) Chief. With a budget of approximately $4-6 million annually, the goal of MIP was to equip U.S. manufacturers with the technical guidance and testing support needed to interoperate in today?s global, heterogeneous manufacturing world. This report summarizes the work done under the Manufacturing Interoperability Program.
