NCSLI Workshop and Symposium

July 27-30, 2014

Orlando, Florida

The new NIST portable pressure standard will be featured at the NIST booth at the National Conference of Standards Laboratories, International (NCSLI) in Orlando Florida this July. Bring your devices (barometers or pressure gauges) and run a single point check against the portable standard**.

The accuracy of low pressure measurements has long been limited to advanced laboratories with manometers or other standards, however research into gauge performance has allowed for a new standard to be developed to allow field calibrations or high accuracy measurements at the users facility. This service is being launched as a Standard Reference Instrument to provide NIST-On-Demand measurements wherever they are needed. The standard can be shipped directly to you for:

  • Interlaboratory comparisons
  • NAVLAP proficiency testing
  • Calibration of critical device in place
  • High accuracy measurements for your experiment

This standard operates in the range of 1 Pa to 130,000 Pa and can operate in differential or absolute mode. Accuracy of this portable device rivals some types of standards used around the world and is as low as 0.002% at barometric pressure.

** Devices must have a ¼"NPT,¼" VCR, or ¼" Swagelok fitting and will be tested in absolute mode only. No calibration report or traceability link will be issued at NCSLI as this is only a demonstration of the portable standard. Single point pressures are around barometric pressure range, however sensors with low pressure range (down to 1 Pa) can also be checked upon availability.
