Honoring Our Past. . . Building an Even Better Future
Recognize and Promote Excellence and Innovation
The Baldrige Program has come a long way since August 20, 1987, when legislation passed to create a public-private partnership and the
Criteria for Performance Excellence continue to evolve as a roadmap to success and sustainability for all organizations.
Twenty-five years later, Baldrige Award winners still "exhibit the kind of job-creating innovation that's always kept our economy growing and vibrant and prosperous," said President Barack Obama. "Thanks to all of you for recognizing and promoting excellence and innovation."
Build a Stronger, More Thriving Economy
"Since 1987 the Baldrige Award has helped invigorate our nation's economy by advancing competitiveness and ensuring quality of performance in all sectors across our country," added former President Bill Clinton. "All of you represent the best of our industries and challenge us to build a stronger, more thriving economy."
Said President George H.W. Bush, "Baldrige Award winners still exemplify performance excellence and serve as U.S. role models across all sectors of the economy. By sharing best practices and pursuing excellence, the Baldrige Award recipients . . . have proven that U.S. organizations can excel in a global economy."
"Thank you for your commitment to helping U.S. organizations become more competitive and more sustainable. . . . President Reagan would be proud," added R. Duke Blackwood, director of The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum.
